Requesting Materials From Other Libraries

Requesting Temporarily Suspended During Holiday Break

Due to the holiday library closure, requesting services, including Summit Plus and CCRLS Bridge, will be temporarily unavailable from December 18 to January 1.

The CCRLS Bridge: What Does It Do?

The CCRLS Bridge makes it possible for Chemeketa students and employees to request CCRLS public library materials without using a CCRLS public library card.  CCRLS is the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service.

How to Request

Q: Do the public libraries in Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service use the same online system as Chemeketa Community College?

No. The CCRLS public libraries use a different system for their catalog. You can see and request public items, however, by changing "Primo Search" to "CCRLS Public Libraries" in the dropdown menu on the Primo library search page.

Q: Can I still have items sent from the public library to a Chemeketa campus library?

Yes! Items requested from CCRLS public libraries can be picked up at Chemeketa Salem or Yamhill campuses, or at Chemeketa's Polk Center. You must be logged into the Primo Library search with your Chemeketa user name and password.

Q: How can Chemeketa students and faculty request CCRLS public library resources?

Current students and employees can use their Chemeketa username and password or use a CCRLS public library card.

Here's how to do it with a Chemeketa username and password:

1. In Primo Library Search, limit your search to CCRLS Public Libraries.

After clicking on CCRLS Bridge Request, you should see a screen with Delivery Info and the Request link.  If you do not see this screen, read What if I click on the CCRLS Bridge Request link and the item isn't found? below

If a copy of your item is requestable you will see a pulldown menu to select your pickup location. For most items, "volume needed" may be left blank. You can use the Volumes Needed space to specify which part of a multi-volume book or issue of a magazine you want.

5. Choose a pickup location and click on Request.  Your item will be sent to the library you selected. Use your Chemeketa ID to check out the item.

Q: What if I click on the CCRLS Bridge Request link and the item isn't found?

Sometimes clicking on the CCRLS Bridge Request link will result in the message "No records found when searching".

This happens when the Bridge Request doesn't understand the message sent from Primo Library Search. If this happens, look for the Simple Search link at the top of the page and do a keyword search for your item.

Click on the desired title in the Simple Search results list to see full information about the item and requestability.

Q: How will I know when my item arrives?

A: You will receive an e-mail in your My Chemeketa mail account.

Q: The item I want is at  "OSL" but  it says "Not Requestable."

A: The Oregon State Library shares a server with CCRLS, but its materials are not directly requestable through the system.  There is a link, however, to an interlibrary loan request form you can fill out.

Q: What about electronic items?

A: Electronic materials in the public libraries do not display in the CCRLS Bridge.  State Library electronic items do, however. Although there's no way to request a loan of an electronic item, you can try using Google or the Oregon.gov web site to find a copy you can access.

Q: How can I get more information about the Public Library system and service?
