Literature: Find Articles & Web Pages

Resources for students

Using Literature Resource Center

Literature Resource Center is a resource you can use to search many sources of literary criticism and biography. It includes journal articles, essays, work overviews, and more. When using  Literature Resource Center from off campus, you will need your My Chemeketa user name and password.

For best results, use the Advanced Search. Notice that the advanced search page has spaces for Person where you can put an author's name. Optionally, you can include the name of the work.

The results show literary criticism. You can switch to another source type, e.g., biography, by clicking the facet under Content Types.

Click on an article title to read it.  The toolbar on the article page has options for print, download, and e-mail. There is also a Citation Tools link that will help you write an MLA style citation. For more help, see the  Literature Resource Center handout, below.

Using JSTOR

You may find it helpful to click on Advanced Search On the JSTOR home page.

On the Advanced Search page, if you check off Article under Item Type this will eliminate book reviews from your search results.
