Place a copy of required and supplemental texts on Reserve at the library. Students may check out reserve books, generally for 2-hours at a time, to use in the library. This is a great way for students to get access to a text so they do not fall behind while waiting for financial aid or for the bookstore to order additional copies.
College Lending (Textbook Lending Library)
This free service allows students to check out textbooks for an entire term. Textbooks are available on a first-come-first-serve basis and priority is given to students with a 2.0 GPA or higher for their last term completed.
Access and read eBooks online via the Library Search. When prompted, log in with your MyChemeketa username and password. The library does not purchase course textbooks but there may be material in other eBooks that will benefit your students and supplement class readings. Reference Librarians are happy to help you use the Library Search.
Articles, Images, Video and More in Library Databases
Access periodical articles, articles from reference books, streaming video, images and more in licensed library databases. Reference Librarians are happy to help you choose a database, develop search strategies, and talk about how to share articles with your students.
LibraryGuides with Links to Course Materials
LibraryGuides provide a place for students to access research instruction and materials, as well as class readings. The RD 80/85/90 LibraryGuide is an example of a guide with course readings. The guide has links to the free online text being used for the class, as well as links to supplemental articles. Some articles require the student to log in through the proxy server using a MyChemeketa username and password, others go directly to the article online. Click on the tabs to navigate from page to page. Interested in setting up something for your class? Contact a librarian and we will set up a time to talk about your class needs.
