Set up a Free New York Times Account

Instructions:

  •  Quick Link to the New York Times (or find it from the Library Database page)
  • Log in with your MyChemeketa username and password
  • Click the Create Account button
  • Choose a set-up option (for example, I chose to set up my account using my college email address and a password I set for the NYTimes)
  • Uncheck the black box if you do not want to receive additional emails or announcements
  • Click the Create Account button
  • Answer the question prompts - note that it doesn't matter what you choose for anticipated graduation and you do not need to enter a second email address unless you want to

Your account is good for a year whether or not you take classes all year. You do not have to go through the library website, you can go straight to the New York Times website and just enter your account information when prompted to login or show you have a subscription. The Chemeketa subscription includes most sections, so in addition to the investigative journalism, check out sections like Food, Health, and Opinions. The Chemeketa subscription does not include access to the crossword puzzle.
