Summit: What It Is & How To Use IT: An Introduction

Summit is the system used by the libraries of the Orbis Cascade Alliance to share materials among its libraries.  The Alliance consists of 39 college and university libraries in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Chemeketa employees and students enrolled for at least one credit can request items directly from our library search.  You must be logged in to see the Summit request link.

  • Any item in the library search results that says Check holdings and has a yellow dot is a potential Summit request.
  • Click the Get It tab.
  • The Place Summit Request link will display if there is at least one copy on the shelf in a Summit library.
  • Click the link to start a request.
  •  You will have to choose a pickup location (Salem or Yamhill campus).
  •  If the item has multiple volumes, specify which one you want.

Please note that an item that is on the shelf is not always requestable. Check your My Chemeketa e-mail for news about your request.
