CCRLS Bridge: Requesting items from CCRLS Public Libraries

How to use the CCRLS Bridge to request books or other items from the public libraries in the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service

What Does It Do?

The CCRLS Bridge makes it possible for Chemeketa patrons to request CCRLS public library books without using a public library barcode. CCRLS stands for Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service.

Frequently Asked Questions about Accessing Public Library Resources

Do the public libraries in Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service use the same online system as Chemeketa Community College?

No. The CCRLS public libraries use a different system for their catalog. You can see public items, however, by choosing the CCRLS Public Libraries scope from the dropdown in the Chemeketa library search.picture of dropdown menu in library search showing CCRLS Public Libraries option

Can I still have items sent from the public library to a Chemeketa campus library?

Yes! Items requested from CCRLS public libraries can be picked up at Chemeketa Salem (CCC) or Yamhill (YVC) campuses.

How can students access public library resources?

There are two ways.  By requesting as a Chemeketa student/employee, or by using a CCRLS public library card.

With Chemeketa credentials:

Request in the CCRLS Public Libraries scope by clicking Get It tab under your item and following the link that says, "CCRLS Request." This will open another window and display the results of a search in the CCRLS Bridge.

With a CCRLS public library card:

  • Have a CCRLS public library card? Great!  You can use this card to check out and request public library items.
  • Don’t have one? Go to your local CCRLS public library (within Marion, Polk or Yamhill counties) with proof of residency (utility bill, electric bill, etc.) to apply for one.
  • Live outside of the city limits? Take your Chemeketa Student ID and proof of class registration (for example, a schedule printed out from My Chemeketa) to your local CCRLS public library to receive a 25 item access library card. This card must be renewed every term.

Request in the CCRLS Public Libraries scope by clicking Get It and following the CCRLS catalog. On that screen click the Place Hold button and enter your public library card barcode number and PIN.
